Fred Dalton Thompson appeared on Leno tonight and did a pretty good job. He showed that there is someone else out there that sees government as most of us do. I liked his shtick about him not running for president since high school (like the others). He also made a comment many of us have made deriding the unneccesary length of campaigns these days. He truly never wanted or thought about being president. He is just the right person in the right place at the right time.
Fred has also launched his website recently. I like the concept. His campaign isn't going to be like any other. If you are interested you can visit imwithfred.com.
We're still waiting to hear if he is actually running...hah.
Rudy, on the other hand, is in full swing. He has listed out 12 commitments to the American people. I like most of them, alot. The only hole I can pinpoint is social security reform. But, since he support free-market solutions for most problems I am sure I will agree with any policy he may support for fixing social security.
Here they are:
1. I will keep America on offense in the Terrorists’ War on Us.
2. I will end illegal immigration, secure our borders, and identify every non-citizen in our nation.
3. I will restore fiscal discipline and cut wasteful Washington spending.
4. I will cut taxes and reform the tax code.
5. I will impose accountability on Washington.
6. I will lead America towards energy independence.
7. I will give Americans more control over, and access to, healthcare with affordable and portable free-market solutions.
8. I will increase adoptions, decrease abortions, and protect the quality of life for our children.
9. I will reform the legal system and appoint strict constructionist judges.
10. I will ensure that every community in America is prepared for terrorist attacks and natural disasters.
11. I will provide access to a quality education to every child in America by giving real school choice to parents.
12. I will expand America’s involvement in the global economy and strengthen our reputation around the world.

i support...
But, both have top notch resumes. On one hand you have Rudy who has the star power that is so valuable. He has all the successes that a conservative would want on their resume. He cut crime, lowered taxed, grew the economy, lowered abortions, etc. He's a tackler of tough issues. Then you have Romney who is such a great speaker. Just watch any of his appearances such as his time on Leno or the debates and he'll win you over. Plus, he is a business mastermind, a succesful governor and the man who turned around the olympics which were mired in a mess much like America is today.
I just can't decide....yet. For now I am hoping for a Rudy McRomney ticket! Who knows?
I do know that I hope Hillary Clinton wins the democratic nomination. Nothing else would re-energize the conservative base and sway moderates to the GOP side like a Clinton ticket. This will especially be helpful if Rudy is the nominee and the base needs a reason to get out and vote Republican!
